Established in 1977 as a family-run business near Blackpool town centre, Beechwood Engineering has earned a reputation for producing high-quality products and delivering outstanding service across a wide range of industries.

At Beechwood Engineering, we believe that understanding a company starts with understanding its origins.
Our journey began in 1977, when founder Peter Churchill had a vision to build a business that would provide lasting prosperity for his family. With determination and a clear plan in mind, Peter turned to his parents, Jim and Doreen Churchill, asking them to support his venture. In an incredible act of trust and belief, they invested their life savings, just over £7,000 into helping Peter get started.
Peter and his older brother Bob, both skilled toolmakers, decided to rent a modest premises in Blackpool and purchase a manual Bridgeport milling machine. They committed to working split shifts, sharing the workload between them. Engineering ran deep in the Churchill family, their father Jim was a mechanical engineer, and their mother Doreen brought invaluable support to the business with her intelligence and experience in office management.
When it came time to name the new company, the family considered many options, including using their initials. But nothing felt quite right until one Saturday afternoon, when Jim returned home and looked at the family house. It had been their one and only home, a symbol of stability and shared dreams. Inspired by its name, Beechwood, Jim suggested it as the name for the new business. The family instantly agreed it was perfect.
And so, on August 1st, 1977, Beechwood Engineering officially began trading.
Due to increasing demand and the rapid expansion of the business, the family soon found themselves in need of larger premises. In 1986, Beechwood Engineering relocated from Peter Street to a new site on Cocker Avenue in Poulton-le-Fylde, where we proudly remain to this day.
As the company grew, so too did the next generation’s involvement. Peter’s son, Stewart Churchill, joined the business in August 1990, continuing the family tradition of dedication, craftsmanship, and commitment to engineering excellence. Stewart is now the Managing Director of Beechwood Engineering, leading the company into the future while upholding the strong values it was built upon.
Today, we honour that legacy by staying true to our roots: a family-driven company built on trust, skill, and a passion for engineering excellence.

Our factory operates 24 hours a day, starting Monday at 7:00am through to Friday at 1:00pm.
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: Factory operations available as required
